Meet the Teachers

Molly Spisak - Molly has a BA in Elementary Education (K-8), Education of the Handicapped (K-12), and Early Childhood Intervention Specialist (P-3) from Walsh University. In addition to completing courses through the Autism Certification Center, she has completed TEACCH (Treatment and Education of Autistic and Communication-related Handicapped children). Molly has 22 years of teaching experience across all grade levels, preschool through age 22.

Holly Heikkinen - Holly graduated from the Mount Union College in 2002 with a BA in Early Childhood Education. She started her teaching career in a Kindergarten classroom and then moved to Florida where she was a Preschool special needs teacher for 2 years. In 2009, her family moved home and Holly continued her passion for teaching special needs children and started working at TCBDD Fairhaven as an Early Intervention Specialist for 5 years. When a position was available two years later, she became a Preschool special needs teacher at TCBDD Fairhaven Schools. As a teacher, she continues to take additional course work in special needs education to further her knowledge. Holly is married with three children, ages 13, 10, and 7, and they love to be outside and our active in sports with her children.

Shannon Lesnak - Shannon has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education from Kent State University. She also attended the Kent State University Graduate Program and earned a Reading Endorsement and Early Intervention Certificate. She is currently finishing the last few classes for a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Special Education. Shannon has previous experience as a first grade teacher and a Kindergarten/First grade reading intervention teacher. She believes in the importance of building a caring classroom community and providing hands-on learning experiences that integrate literacy, math, and science.

Holly Fulford - Holly has been teaching at TCBDD Fairhaven for 37 years. Holly has a certificate in Special Education K-12, which she earned at John Carroll University in Cleveland and Notre Dome College of Ohio. Holly also has an Early Childhood Certificate she received from Youngstown State University. She lives in Hermitage, PA. Holly's favorite teaching motto is: "With age comes wisdom". She has one son, age 25. She enjoys spending time with family, reading, and her dog, Arty.

Tricia Maxwell - Tricia received a Master of Science in Education (with dual certification in General Education and Special Education) from Manhattan College in New York, where she was born and raised. She has an Intervention Specialist K-12 License as well as an Early Childhood Intervention Specialist Supplemental License. Tricia has been working with children, in a variety of settings, since she has been a teenager. Teaching is her calling and children are the joy of her life. Tricia is married with one son, age 7. Tricia enjoys going to the gym where she takes Tae Bo (a hybrid of aerobics and kickboxing), dance, and boot camp classes.

Lisa Moser - Lisa has been working with Preschool-aged children in both private daycare and public schools since 1984. She has a BS in Christian education from Cincinnati Christian University and went to Youngstown State University to complete coursework for her teaching license. She worked for the Mahoning County Educational Service Center for 19 years prior to joining the TCBDD Fairhaven family in 2016. She enjoys reading and hanging out with her two grandchildren, friends, and family in her spare time. She is an avid Ohio State fan. O-H!

Sissy Keeling - Sissy has always wanted to be a teacher - even growing up and playing school, she was the teacher. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Health and Physical Education from Slippery Rock University. After she found that she loved working with small children, she went back to school at Youngstown State University. She did her student teaching at various places, but loved when she was here at Fairhaven. She had a great experience with shadowing a teacher here and learned how great and rewarding it can be to work with children with special needs along with children who are typically developing. Prior to joining the Preschool staff, she was an Early Intervention Specialist (birth to age 3) at TCBDD Fairhaven for 17 years. She finished her Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood at Kendall College and then her Masters in Special Education along with her Early Childhood Intervention Specialist License at the University of Toledo. Her philosophy for working with young children is: "Children learn best through hands-on experiences".

Erin Morris - Erin has a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Intervention PreK-3 Mild/Moderate/Intensive and an Intervention Specialist License K-12 Moderate/Intensive both from the University of Akron. Erin taught one year at a Primary MD self-contained classroom K-5 prior to coming to TCBDD Fairhaven and is on her 4th year teaching special education with ages 3-5 here. She is also on the Jr. Olympics committee and the Instructional Cabinet committee. She enjoys running, reading, being outside, and being with family. One of her favorite quotes: "The first 5 years have so much to do with how the next 80 turn out" - Bill Gates Sr.

Danielle Mrofchak - Danielle received a Masters of Science in Education from Youngstown State University in Advanced Early Childhood and a Bachelors of Science in Education from The University of Akron in Early Childhood Intervention Specialist and Intervention Specialist K-12. She has taught for the past 7 years, for both the East Liverpool City Schools and the Mahoning County Educational Service Center. Danielle has experience with Preschool Inclusion and Kindergarten classrooms. The 2017-2018 school year will be Danielle’s first year with the TCBDD Fairhaven Preschool Program and she looks forward to working collaboratively with the families and staff throughout the school year! Outside of the classroom, Danielle enjoys her time with her husband Adam, two daughters Allie (4) and Emma (1) and their dog, Bailey.

Kathy Fleming - Kathy has a Bachelor of Science in Education from Kent State University and a Masters of Education in Early Childhood Education from Youngstown State University. She has a special needs brother so she has been involved with the TCBDD Fairhaven Program for 45 years. After receiving her degree from Kent State, she was hired as a teacher and has been teaching at Fairhaven for 36 years in every level of the educational program. Kathy chose teaching because of her love for making a difference in a child's life. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her 2 daughters and 3 grandchildren.
