  • Director of Community Relations & Resource Development

    The Trumbull County Board of Developmental Disabilities has an excellent opportunity for a Director of Community Relations and Resource Development in its program. Ideal candidate will serve as Executive Director of the Fairhaven Foundation in providing a vision of the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and will also oversee and direct the Board’s social media and web presence strategy. Responsibilities include preparing, implementing, and managing plans to ensure needed dollars are raised to fund grants and events sponsored by the Fairhaven Foundation; preparing and processing grant applications; managing grant funds and associated budgets; planning, coordinating, implementing and overseeing special projects and annual and ongoing giving campaigns; managing individual and corporate gifts; researching donor programs at local, state, and federal institutions; reconciling balance sheet and other financial reports using the Board’s computerized accounting system, and analyzing budgets to maintain and monitor fiscal goals; developing a speaker’s bureau and generating opportunities for speaking; utilizing considerable public speaking skills, presentation tools and creative writing skills to communicate verbal messages to be delivered by self, board members, the Superintendent, or members of the speaker’s bureau; designing and maintaining continuous community feedback processes; overseeing, implementing, and revising the Board’s communications/marketing plan; developing printed and audiovisual materials to provide the image of the Board and individuals with developmental disabilities, including, but not limited to internal and external newsletters, annual reports, brochures, news features, and video presentations; writing and disseminating press releases for the county board; maintaining an integral role pertaining to all outbound information processing relative to major issues, levy campaigns, DD Awareness Months, media kits, newsletter distributions, information brochure design, and production. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field required; three (3) to five (5) years of successful fundraising experience; knowledge of the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities; demonstrated organizational skills; experience with word processing, database, spreadsheet, desktop publishing, Power Point and digital computer equipment preferred; experience with accounting software; excellent communications skills, to include: written, spoken, and multimedia communications platforms, including but not limited to video, web and social media; Excellent salary and benefit package.   • School Bus Drivers
    We have an excellent opportunity for School Bus Drivers in our program. Candidates chosen must be dependable, must have an interest in working with persons with disabilities, and will be guaranteed 27.5 hours of work per week for the 2020-2021 school year. Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class B, with S&P endorsements, required. Hourly rate: $14.50 per hour.
  • Bus Aides
    We have an excellent opportunity for Bus Aides in our program. Successful candidates must have an interest in working with persons with disabilities and will be guaranteed 22.5 hours of work per week for the 2020-2021 school year. Paid training provided. Hourly rate: $10.00 per hour.

Substitute Employment Available

We are accepting applications for qualified candidates to provide the following substitute services on an as needed, flexible schedule basis:

  • Substitute Teachers
    The Trumbull County Board of Developmental Disabilities (Fairhaven) has an excellent opportunity for qualified applicants to provide substitute teaching services to students with developmental disabilities. Candidates chosen will work as needed in the absence of regular Teachers and will follow approved curriculum areas. Will be required to obtain/maintain appropriate substitute teaching credential from the Ohio Department of Education. Bachelor’s Degree in Education/Special Education required. Substitute Rate: $15.50 per hour. Paid training provided.
  • Substitute Classroom Assistants
    Candidates chosen shall provide assistance to Teachers. Shall hold, or be in the process of obtaining, appropriate Educational Aide certification from the Ohio Department of Education. High school diploma or GED required. Substitute rate: $10.00 per hour.
  • Substitute Bus Drivers
    Successful candidates must be dependable, must have an interest in working with persons with disabilities, and will work on an as-needed basis. Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class B, with S & P endorsements required. Hourly Rate: $14.50/hr.
  • Substitute Bus Aides
    Successful candidates must have an interest in working with persons with disabilities. Paid training provided. High school diploma or GED required. Substitute rate: $10.00 per hour.
  • Substitute Nurses
    Successful candidates will work in our school and will be responsible for providing health and wellness services for students with disabilities. Current and valid State of Ohio Nursing License required. Substitute rate: RN: $21 per hour; LPN: $18.50 per hour.
  • Substitute Cook Assistants
    We have an excellent opportunity for Substitute Cook Assistants in our School program. Candidates chosen will fill in for full-time employees on an as needed basis during the school year. Hours of work are generally between 9:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Responsibilities include assisting students scheduled to work in the kitchen, helping kitchen staff as needed, and preparing and cleaning work area and equipment. Hourly rate of pay: $9.00.
  • Substitute Clerical
    Ideal candidates will provide clerical assistance in a variety of office settings. Must type 50 wpm and have working knowledge of computers and office practices and procedures. High school diploma or GED required. Substitute rate: $10.00 per hour.
  • Substitute Custodians
    Candidates chosen must be dependable, will work on an as-needed basis, and will be subject to 8-hour shift assignments. Responsibilities include routine custodial duties involved in maintaining a clean building. Substitute rate: $10.00 per hour.
